Tom Quigley, Vice President/ National Business Consultant, provides consulting services, and is in charge of recruitment and new business for ClaimLinx.
Today Tom is discussing the recent conflicting and somewhat confusing supreme court rulings regarding federal insurance subsidies. The decisions address whether the IRS can offer subsidies to low- and middle-income Americans who live in the 34 states without their own insurance exchanges. A three-judge panel of the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that the subsidies are legal, while the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit ruled that they are not.
This is just another political maneuver, with appeals in the works, and will likely be tied up in the courts for quite some time. As far as purchasing health insurance benefits are concerned, it’s business as usual, and you shouldn’t be concerned about the rulings.
ClaimLinx is positioning its clients to move in the right direction. We can structure benefits in your favor to ensure you are in full compliance with the law without cutting benefits or employees. Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or(800) 858-1772 X 25 with your questions.
