Ways to stay healthy this fall

Colder weather is here, and the leaves are changing colors in the throes of autumn. ClaimLinx is ready to celebrate the harvest, Thanksgiving, and upcoming winter holidays. In today’s blog, ClaimLinx discusses autumn wellness tips to keep you and your family healthy as the year comes to a close.

Boost Your Immune System

Start with the basics – improving your immune system. Give your body extra fighting power by eating healthier. Fruits and vegetables are loaded with vitamins and minerals that help keep flu season from taking you down. But that is not all. Wash your hands more often and carry plenty of hand sanitizer to prevent the spread of germs. The most important thing you can do to support your immune system, though, is to drink plenty of fluids and get a lot of rest. Water is best, and always try to get seven to eight hours of sleep per night.

Maintain a Routine

Maintain your routine by planning for healthy living in advance. Prep meals on the weekends, maintain a regular sleep schedule, schedule time for fun activities and relaxation, and do your best to increase physical activity. Studies show repeatedly that routine makes you healthier and more productive in everything you do. If you are new to maintaining a schedule, start small. Pick just one thing to do consistently for your health. Remember, forming a habit can take as little as two months. So, the most important thing is to stick with it.

Take a Multivitamin

Eating a balanced diet is important for maintaining good physical and mental health. However, busy adults often make unhealthy meal choices or skip meals, leading to potential nutrient deficiencies. Taking multivitamins is an easy way to ensure you get all the essential nutrients, even on days when your diet may be lacking.

Get Outside

Embrace the colorful leaves, set specific fitness goals, prioritize safety, and try outdoor activities like cycling and hiking. Invite friends and family to join you and make it a social experience. Staying active in the fall is good for your physical health and well-being, so make the most of it! And ensure you stay hydrated and mindful during your outdoor activities. If you need some support for hydration during these changing months.

Be Vigilant About Hand Washing

By prioritizing proper handwashing, you can protect yourself and those around you from illness, maintain good health throughout autumn, and contribute to community well-being. To reduce the risk of illness in autumn:

  • Use soap and warm water.
  • Scrub your hands for at least 20 seconds, including between the fingers and under nails.
  • Rinse with clean, running water.
  • Dry your hands with a clean towel or air dryer.
  • Use hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol if soap and water are unavailable.

This fall, prioritize your health by seizing the seasonal opportunities for wellness. Embrace nourishing seasonal foods, engage in outdoor activities, and incorporate self-care rituals to stay healthy and thrive.
